Dish soap or a dedicated all-purpose cleaner?
Chris Notap uses dish soap diluted in hot water and achieves visible results on food stains. Carlo Joseph explicitly says not to use dish soap, recommending a dedicated all-purpose cleaner instead.
Our read: Dish soap works on fresh food and drink stains because it cuts grease and lifts colour. The risk is residue: dish soap is not formulated to rinse out of upholstery, and a commenter on the Chris Notap video notes it can attract new dirt once dry. For a one-off fresh spill, it is acceptable. For regular or heavier cleaning, a diluted APC is the safer choice.
Do you need an extractor?
